CDM holds a Volunteer Orientation each month to share with community members different ways to help the museum and receive training to be a Discovery Docent in our exhibit halls. Refreshments will be served. Anyone aged 14+ is welcome, but you must RSVP by calling 361.485.9140 or emailing email@example.com.
Upcoming training date: November 9th at 6pm
Children’s Discovery Museum of the Golden Crescent is recruiting service-minded young adults (ages 14-20) to volunteer their time to promote the mission of the museum and serve as a youth ambassador to the museum community. Discovery Corps is a continuous commitment program with perks like group trips to museums out of town, professional skills for resume building, and admission to special CDM events. Participants are asked to commit to 4 hours of museum service each month and teach at one week of camp.
Please click here to apply for the program.
Whether you have a few hours to spare once a
year or several times a week, we appreciate any contributions of time or talent from members of the community. Please click here to submit an interest form!
Volunteer opportunities include being a Discovery Docent
in our exhibit halls, staffing a CDM booth at an outreach event,
making appearances with our mascot, helping with manual
labor tasks and event setup, and more!
As a token of our gratitude, volunteers will receive a 10% discount in the museum gift shop.
