Summer Camp 2017

CDU logo.pngHigher Education is all the rage at the Children’s Discovery Museum’s newest summer camp series: Children’s Discovery University, where children can give college a test-run!

Each week, campers will have the chance to specialize in a particular field, ranging from robotics to the arts. The series will bring college to your camper through new, hands-on classes that mimic the goals and opportunities that come with university-level training. Campers can fill up their transcript with one or every “course” as they explore that age old question: “what do I want to do when I grow up?” CDU will cater to a wide variety of ages with three separate paths to success. CDU 101 will take entering preschoolers through kindergarteners on an age-appropriate exploration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) courses that are sure to enlighten the senses and spark the imagination. CDU 201 is for 1st through 5th graders that want to focus on more than just “getting their basics done” by taking courses that challenge and inspire in new ways. For the upperclassmen, 6th through 8th grade, CDU 301 will be a chance to experience camp classes while also learning to serve as a mentor and leader with younger campers. CDU will be in session for 6 weeks out of the summer.
